Essex Police Charge Man with Murder Following Witham Death Investigation

Witham: Emergency services rushed to a home on Philip Road on January 8 after a man was reported injured. Sadly, he later passed away in the hospital.
The victim was identified as Thomas Collier, who was 79 years old. Following the incident, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
That man, Jimmy Collier, has now been charged with murder. He lives on Philip Road in Witham and appeared in court on Friday. He’s been remanded in custody until his next hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Essex Police are still investigating and have promised to keep a strong police presence in the area. Det Insp Richard Canning mentioned that a dedicated team has been working on this case since it was reported.
