Bangkok: An Essex dad has died after going missing for days. His family is now raising funds to bring him home. James Sangwine, 33, traveled to Thailand for a holiday on January 18.
His partner, Katie, said James planned to meet a British friend living in Thailand. She last heard from him on January 20 when he was heading to a bar.
Sadly, it has been confirmed that James has died. His family set up a fundraising page to cover the costs of bringing his body back to the UK and for his funeral.
Julie Nolan-Day, posting on the Just Giving page, remembered James as “loud and large as life.” She shared that he was an avid West Ham fan and a devoted dad to “little Jimmy.”
Julie encouraged everyone to remember James with love and laughter. The fundraiser launched on February 3 and quickly raised £21,000, surpassing its £15,000 goal.
A spokesman for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said they are supporting James’s family and are in contact with local authorities.
