Queensferry: Tomorrow, maintenance work kicks off again on the Queensferry Crossing. This is to finish up some essential under-deck work at the south end of the bridge.

This work had started back in December but got delayed because of some pretty rough weather before Christmas.

David Bishop, who manages bridges for BEAR Scotland, mentioned that they’re teaming up with Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors to get this maintenance back on track for Transport Scotland.

To keep everyone safe during the work, they’ll use the same traffic management plan that was in place before Christmas. It didn’t really mess with northbound traffic much.

For those with abnormal loads heading north, you’ll need to take a detour via Clackmannanshire Bridge while the work is going on.

They’ll keep two lanes open in both directions, except when they’re setting up or taking down the temporary traffic management. During those times, expect one lane to be closed overnight from 10 PM to 6 AM.

There’s also going to be a temporary speed limit of 50 mph throughout the work, and a free vehicle recovery service will be on hand for any breakdowns in the work zone.

Good news is, the southbound lanes won’t be affected by all this work.
