London: So, Anthony Watson has decided to hang up his boots at just 30. Can you believe it? This guy has been through a lot with injuries lately, and now he’s calling it quits for medical reasons.

Watson has had quite the career. He made his England debut back in 2014 and racked up 56 caps, scoring 23 tries along the way. He was part of the England squad that won the Six Nations in 2017 and 2020, plus he helped snag a Grand Slam in 2016. Pretty impressive, right?

He even played in two World Cups, helping England reach the final in 2019. When he announced his retirement, he said it was a dream come true to play for England so many times. He’s got a lot of great memories to look back on.

Watson started his career at London Irish before moving to Bath, where he played 126 times. In 2022, he joined Leicester Tigers but faced a tough time with injuries, missing the 2023 World Cup due to a calf issue. It’s been a rough ride for him.

England’s head coach, Steve Borthwick, praised Watson, calling him a humble and hard-working player. He said Watson brought incredible talent to the team and was always proud to represent England. Everyone wishes him the best for whatever comes next.
