Philadelphia: So, you won’t believe what happened during the game! Joel Embiid, the star of the 76ers, got tossed out after he had a heated moment with a referee.
It all went down when he got called for a third foul after charging at Victor Wembanyama. The poor guy ended up on the floor, and Embiid just couldn’t hold back his frustration.
He started arguing with referee Jenna Schroeder, and things escalated quickly. He even took off his face mask while protesting, which led to two technical fouls and his ejection. Talk about a dramatic exit!
Earlier in the game, there was another ejection when Andre Drummond got tossed for two technicals after a challenge on Wembanyama, but that call was later overturned. It was definitely a wild first half, as Coach Nick Nurse put it.
Despite the chaos, Tyrese Maxey stepped up big time, scoring 32 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help the 76ers secure a 111-106 win. Wembanyama also had a solid game with 26 points and eight blocks.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics, who were leading at halftime, ended up losing to the Orlando Magic. Jayson Tatum was out sick, and Orlando’s Tristan da Silva led his team with 18 points.
And over in the West, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was on fire, scoring 41 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 123-105 victory against the Wizards. What a night in the NBA!
