Newport: A dog walker was rushed to the hospital after a scary incident. She was hit by a car while out with her dog early in the morning. It all happened around 6:35 AM on Rowan Way.
One local guy, Saul Evans, was getting ready for work when he heard a loud crash. He looked outside and saw a car had crashed into his garden. To his shock, a woman and her dog were trapped underneath.
Saul said he heard the car speeding before the crash. He quickly called for his neighbors to help. Luckily, two nurses from a nearby nursing home came to assist. They all had to wait for the fire service to arrive and lift the car off the woman.
He mentioned how often he sees her walking her dog and expressed his hope that she would be okay. It’s just terrible to think about what happened.
Emergency services, including Gwent Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service, were on the scene. They confirmed that the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The car involved was a silver Volkswagen Passat, and the people inside reportedly left before the police arrived.
Authorities are still investigating and are asking anyone with information or footage of the incident to reach out. Forensic teams are also on-site, and a crane was used to help with the rescue.
