Blacktown: A sad incident unfolded when a man in his 70s lost his life in a fire at a hoarder’s house. It happened in western Sydney, and it was quite a scene.

Fire crews got the call around 4 PM on Saturday. When they arrived at the house on Grant St, they saw thick smoke pouring out. They knew they had to act fast.

This house was already on their radar because it belonged to a hoarder. When firefighters went inside, they found the place fully ablaze and the elderly man inside.

Despite their efforts, including CPR from paramedics and police, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. It was a tough moment for everyone involved.

About 32 firefighters showed up to tackle the fire, with eight trucks on the scene. Superintendent Grant Rice from NSW Fire and Rescue emphasized the dangers of hoarding.

He reminded everyone that hoarding can make it really hard for emergency responders to do their jobs. It’s a serious safety issue that can have tragic consequences.

Investigators are now looking into what caused the fire and the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. As of now, he hasn’t been formally identified.
