Ulhasnagar: So, here’s the scoop. Eight teenage girls made a daring escape from a government-run observation home late Wednesday night. They managed to break the iron bars on the windows and jumped out of the dormitory. Can you believe it?
The place is run by the Women and Child Welfare Department, and now it’s under a lot of scrutiny. The police said the girls, aged between 15 and 17, were discovered missing during a roll call when the night staff noticed the broken bars. Talk about a wake-up call!
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Gore quickly set up special teams to find the girls. They searched all over, hitting up bus stops, toll booths, and railway stations. They even set up checkpoints to catch a break.
Good news, though! Seven of the girls were found at the Ulhasnagar railway station, trying to catch a train. But, of course, they were out of luck since the trains had stopped for the night. The eighth girl, a 17-year-old, is still missing, and the search is on.
When the rescued girls were questioned, they mentioned they weren’t happy with how things were at the observation home. That’s what pushed them to escape. Meanwhile, the police are looking into the staff’s negligence, as they might be responsible for this whole mess. They even filed a FIR since the missing girl is a minor.
