Edinburgh: So, there was this wild train ride from Edinburgh to London. Passengers were pretty frustrated after a long eight-hour journey. LNER had to step in and taxi folks home.

The train was supposed to leave at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, but it got delayed because of a collision. It finally rolled out about 40 minutes late. Talk about a rough start!

One passenger, Wilson Chowdhry, shared that things got worse when an animal was hit on the tracks. They didn’t pull into London King’s Cross until 2:41 AM, which was over three hours late. Yikes!

Wilson was on his way back to celebrate his daughter’s 21st birthday after a day in Edinburgh. He mentioned they had to stop at York Station because the train ahead hit the emergency brake.

He said, “I was moved to first class, offered refreshments, and given a taxi home along with a full refund.” But still, it was a long night that ended at 4:15 AM for him.

He expressed his disappointment, saying, “I’ll have to miss the meal where we would have been celebrating.” It’s a bummer to miss such a special occasion, especially since he usually makes it to her birthday.

LNER confirmed they had taxi marshals to help passengers get home. They mentioned the delays were due to “disruption on the network.” Network Rail has been asked for more info.
