Edinburgh ScotRail passengers ‘left standing on peak train with only two carriages’

Edinburgh: So, there was this crazy situation on a ScotRail train the other morning. Commuters were packed in like sardines because the train only had two carriages during rush hour.

People on the 7am service from Glenrothes to Edinburgh were pretty annoyed. They had to stand in the aisles since there were no seats left. Can you imagine? One passenger even said someone was leaning on her!

Photos from the scene showed just how cramped it was. Folks were questioning if it was even safe to be that squished together. Apparently, the train was short on carriages because of some engineering work that ran over schedule.

One commuter described the train as “chocka block” and mentioned that people were left behind at some stations. It must have been a relief to finally get off at Haymarket after that ordeal.

Phil Campbell, the Customer Operations Director at ScotRail, acknowledged the issue. He said they know busy trains are a big concern and apologized to anyone who faced overcrowding. It’s definitely something they need to sort out!
