Edinburgh: A careless driver has been caught on camera dumping a whole load of rubbish in a housing scheme. It’s a real mess, and locals are fed up.

Kate Gos, a mum living on West Pilton Avenue, has had enough. She says the communal bins in her block are constantly being used as a dumping ground by tradespeople and nearby residents.

She’s seen it all—bins set on fire and parking spaces filled with discarded items. It’s like a scene from a bad movie, and she’s not happy about it.

In videos shared by Edinburgh Live, you can see a guy allegedly tossing materials into the bin area. And there are even shots of flames shooting up from the bins. It’s wild!

“Flytipping is a huge problem here,” Kate said. “Our communal bins are the only ones around, and everyone thinks it’s okay to dump their stuff there.”

She mentioned that people often leave bulky items in the parking spaces too. It’s not just annoying; it’s downright disgusting.

Kate’s reported the issue to the council, but all they did was slap on a few stickers. The area is still a mess, and it really gets under her skin, especially since they pay council tax and a cleaning fee.

With kids around, she worries about the unhealthy environment. Plus, the bins are set on fire at least twice a month, and the council knows about it.

She’s even talked to the fire service, who are getting tired of the situation. Kate would prefer wheelie bins in their gardens to stop people from treating their area like a dump.

Edinburgh Council has been contacted for a response, but it’s clear that something needs to change.
