Liverpool: Former EastEnders star Rita Simons just got engaged to Ben Harlow, and she’s over the moon! She shared the exciting news on Instagram, showing off her beautiful ring and smiling alongside her fiancé.
In her post, she simply said, “…so this happened!” with a couple of ring emojis. It’s so sweet! Rita, who played Roxy Mitchell for a decade, now stars in Hollyoaks as Marie Fielding.
She met Ben back in 2017 while they were both in Legally Blonde the Musical. They’ve been together since 2020, and it’s clear they’re super happy. Rita’s friends and fans flooded her post with love and congratulations.
Samantha Womack, who played her sister on EastEnders, was all about the excitement, saying, “Wooooooooooop!!!!!” Others like Duncan James and Hayley Tamaddon also chimed in with their warm wishes.
Rita has shared bits about her relationship on the ITV show Drama Queens. She and Ben moved in together last year in Liverpool, and it sounds like they’re really enjoying life as a couple.
