London: Viewers are really voicing their opinions online about EastEnders lately. Many are calling the current storylines “ridiculous.”

One fan kicked things off by saying, “This is just ridiculous at the moment. New Year’s Eve was great, but the two weeks after were just awful.”

They added, “All this stuff with Lauren is just terrible writing. It’s getting hard to watch.”

Others on Reddit jumped in, agreeing with the original poster. One fan mentioned, “I’m pretty bored right now. I don’t care about the mystery of Cindy’s attacker or the Denise/Ravi/Jack love triangle. Reiss is just painful to watch.”

Another viewer said, “I’m letting the episodes pile up. I’ll catch up when things get better.”

One person had a different take, saying, “I wouldn’t call it terrible writing, but it feels forced, like they’re trying too hard to create a ‘whodunnit’ for the anniversary.”

They continued, “It feels almost like a parody of a soap mystery. We know it won’t be Lauren since she’s already been arrested. The other suspects seem too obvious.”

They concluded, “It’s not a bad story, but dragging it out for the 40th anniversary feels unearned. The characters involved just aren’t that interesting.”
