A busy road in East Kilbride is back open following a large restaurant fire that prompted a swift emergency response

East Kilbride: A big fire broke out at a restaurant, causing quite a stir. Police Scotland has announced that the road is now open again.
Emergency crews were on the scene in the Westwood Square area around 5:30 PM on Wednesday. They worked hard to put out the flames.
Redcliffe Drive was closed off, and traffic had to be rerouted while firefighters did their thing. Thankfully, by 8 PM, everything was back to normal.
People shared videos showing thick smoke and bright flames coming from the building. It looked pretty intense!
On Thursday morning, police gave an update saying no one was hurt, which is a relief. They also mentioned that the fire isn’t being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesperson said they were alerted to the fire at around 5:30 PM. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service handled it well.
So, all in all, it was a scary situation, but it seems like everyone is okay. Just another day in East Kilbride, right?
