Jalen Hurts has missed an entire week of practice, raising concerns for the Eagles ahead of their game against the Cowboys this Sunday

Philadelphia: So, it looks like Jalen Hurts has been out of practice all week. He missed Friday’s session too, which is a bummer since the Eagles are gearing up to face the Cowboys on Sunday.
With Hurts sidelined, it seems like Kenny Pickett will be stepping in as the starting quarterback. Even Coach Nick Sirianni, who usually keeps things under wraps, hinted that Hurts might not be ready to play.
Hurts got a concussion during the game against the Commanders, and now he’s stuck in the NFL’s concussion protocol. It’s a tough break for him and the team.
Running back Will Shipley is also out with a concussion, missing the whole week of practice. On the bright side, some players who were limited earlier in the week, like A.J. Brown and Josh Sweat, were back on the field Friday.
However, Britain Covey, who has been a regular participant, missed practice again. He’s been out for three games now, which isn’t great news.
The big story, though, is definitely the quarterback situation. Pickett is ready to take the reins, and he’s been talking like he’s the starter. He’s excited about the opportunity and feels prepared after a solid week of practice.
But Pickett isn’t without his own issues. He’s dealing with a rib injury from the last game, so he’ll be wearing some extra padding this weekend. He did pretty well against the Commanders, completing 14 of 23 passes, but the Eagles lost that game.
Now, with a game plan tailored for him, Pickett has been getting a lot of reps with the first-team offense, including working with top receivers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Coach Sirianni mentioned that Pickett has had a good week of practice, which is encouraging. This will be Pickett’s first start in over a year, so it’s a big moment for him.
The Eagles also have Tanner McKee and Ian Book as backup options, with Book just returning to the practice squad this week. It’s going to be an interesting game for sure!
