Dolgarrog: So, there’s been a bit of a mess with a burst water main in North Wales. Dwr Cymru just put out a statement about it. They said it all kicked off yesterday at the Bryn Cowlyd Water Treatment Works.

This place gets its water from Llyn Cowlyd, which is way up in the mountains. Because of this, a lot of homes in the Conwy Valley are feeling the pinch. Right now, about 8,000 homes are completely without water, and another 33,000 might run dry soon.

This morning, a spokesperson from Dwr Cymru said they’re still on the case. They’ve got crews working hard to fix the issue, but it’s tricky. The burst pipe is buried pretty deep, about two and a half meters under the riverbed.

They need special gear to get to it, and they’re even building a dam-like structure in the river to keep things safe while they work. They’re hoping to have everything back to normal later today.

In the meantime, they’re making sure vulnerable folks get bottled water. They’re looking out for about 5,000 people who really need it. Plus, they’re bringing in water to keep local hospitals supplied.

Dwr Cymru is keeping everyone updated and apologizing for the hassle. They want to reassure everyone that they’re doing everything they can to sort this out quickly.
