Birmingham: The DVLA is sounding the alarm for drivers. They’re saying, “Don’t share photos” of your vehicle documents on social media. It’s a big no-no!

They took to Twitter to remind everyone that sharing your V5C log book can lead to identity theft. Scammers are lurking, ready to pounce on any personal info you put out there.

The DVLA also stressed that you shouldn’t post personal details like your date of birth or driving license number online. It’s just not safe!

They specifically warned against sharing images of important documents. This includes your log book and driving license. It’s all about keeping your info safe from fraudsters.

And don’t forget about your V5 document reference number! Keep that to yourself, especially if you’re selling your vehicle.

On their website, the DVLA encourages people to report any suspicious emails or messages. If something feels off, don’t engage. Just report it!

If you spot a dodgy email, send it to report@phishing.gov.uk. For sketchy text messages, forward them to 7726. It’s a free service that helps alert your mobile provider.

And if you see misleading ads online, report them! Whether it’s on Google or Bing, let them know. It’s all about keeping the internet safe.

If you think you’ve been scammed in England or Wales, reach out to Action Fraud. You can report online or call them at 0300 123 2040. In Scotland, contact Police Scotland for help.

Stay safe out there and keep your personal info private!
