A Dunmore man is now a suspect in a homicide case involving a woman found dead

Crime

Dunmore, Pennsylvania, Maxwell Hawkins, Nicole Vega, Homicide

DUNMORE: So, there’s been a pretty shocking turn of events in Dunmore. A local guy, Maxwell Hawkins, has been named a suspect in a homicide case. It all started when police got a call about an unresponsive woman at a home on Veterans Drive.

When they arrived, they found Nicole Vega dead, and it was a pretty grim scene. There was a loaded gun nearby, and her three kids were in the house too. Hawkins, who lives there, was found at the scene looking pretty out of it. He mentioned something about his wife cheating on him, which is just heartbreaking.

He admitted to having touched the gun but claimed he left it next to Nicole. With the kids around, that’s a serious issue, and he’s facing charges for putting them in danger. After an autopsy, the coroner ruled Nicole’s death a homicide due to a gunshot wound to the head.

The police have said that Hawkins is the main suspect now, and they’ve identified a motive, but they’re holding off on formal charges until they finish their investigation. Right now, he’s sitting in jail with a hefty bail set at a million bucks. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
