Dunfermline: So, there was this pretty wild incident after a football match. A couple of Dunfermline fans got into some serious trouble for attacking a 17-year-old Raith Rovers supporter. It was a nasty scene, and it even got caught on video.
The poor kid was just hanging out after the game when a group of fans jumped him. They knocked him down and started kicking and punching him. It was brutal, and it really messed him up. He ended up breaking his hearing aids in the scuffle.
When the attackers, Callum Beautyman and Mackenzie King, showed up in court, the sheriff read out the victim’s statement. The kid talked about how he’s been having nightmares and panic attacks since the attack. He even said he’s scared of the dark now because he hears the voices of his attackers when he tries to sleep.
He missed his school exams and turned down a job offer because he didn’t want to go back to Dunfermline. That’s how shaken up he is. He wrote that he felt like they wanted to kill him, which is just heartbreaking.
In court, the sheriff told Beautyman and King they should be ashamed of themselves. She said they deserved to go to jail but, because they’re young, they got off with lighter sentences. Beautyman got an eight-month restriction of liberty order, while King has to do 240 hours of community service. Plus, they both got banned from football matches for three years.
