Dudley: So, the Dudley Council walk-in centre is closing next week. It’s happening after they took a good look at how things have been going.
The centre, located on Castle Street, will shut its doors on Friday, January 17. It seems that fewer folks have been visiting since the pandemic hit.
With the launch of the MyDudley online platform, over 100,000 residents have signed up, making it easier for them to get in touch without needing to visit in person.
Councillor Patrick Harley mentioned that residents can still reach out easily, just in a way that suits them best. He pointed out that most people are now opting to contact the council online.
MyDudley is touted as the quickest way to request services or report issues, and it’s available anytime, anywhere, on any device.
For those who aren’t online or need a little help, the call centre is there to assist. Plus, there are housing hubs and family hubs around the borough offering support and advice.
Local libraries are also stepping up, providing information and helping people get online. If you need to reach the council’s call centre, just dial 0300 555 2345.
