Cardiff: So, there was this drugs courier who got caught with a whopping £20,000 after making a trip from London to south Wales. He was part of an organized crime group and was involved in moving a serious amount of cocaine—15 kilograms, to be exact.
The guy, Erjon Xhika, who’s 34, was in on a plan to supply Class A drugs. He was supposed to deliver cocaine to local dealers in south Wales. The whole operation involved bringing the drugs from London, mixing them with other stuff, and then repackaging them for sale. It’s pretty wild, right?
During a court hearing, the judge, Shomon Khan, pointed out how this kind of trafficking could really hurt communities in south Wales. Xhika made two trips to collect cash from a dealer named Klodian Zefi. On his second trip, the police stopped him and found the cash. The judge even thought he probably picked up a similar amount on his first trip.
There was a lot of evidence showing that not only were they moving cocaine, but also a ton of cash. The judge made it clear that Xhika was expecting to make a good amount of money from this whole deal.
In the end, Xhika, who lives in Edgware, Barnet, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine. He got eight months in prison and was also told he’d face automatic deportation once he’s done with his sentence. Quite the turn of events!
