Rowley Regis: So, there was this guy, Khari Salmon, who got himself into a heap of trouble. He ended up stabbing a police officer in the neck with a key while trying to escape. This all went down last October when the cops stopped his car on Beeches Road.

Salmon, just 20 years old, decided to make a run for it down an alley. He didn’t just run, though; he attacked two officers. One got stabbed, and the other got kicked. Thankfully, neither of them was seriously hurt.

As the officers were trying to catch him, he led them to a flat where they found a whole operation for making Class A drugs. They also discovered a stash of cash. Talk about a bad day for him!

When they searched the Audi he was driving, they found a bag full of Class A drugs and more cash. Plus, he had tossed away a holdall that contained a handgun. In total, he had drugs worth over £40,000 and more than £12,500 in cash.

Salmon, who lives on Wolseley Road in West Bromwich, pleaded guilty to a bunch of charges, including having a firearm and intent to supply drugs. He was sentenced to nine years in prison at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 10.

The police are pretty serious about this. They said their Major Crime Team is on it, working hard to get drugs and guns off the streets as part of their Operation Target.
