Newport Drug Dealer Sentenced to Years in Prison for Cocaine Sales
A Newport man has been sentenced to nearly three years for his role in a cocaine supply operation across the city
Newport, Wales, Cocaine, Drug Dealer, Prison Sentence
Newport: So, there’s this guy, Ryan Hiscocks, who just got hit with a hefty prison sentence. He’s been sentenced to two years and nine months for dealing cocaine around Newport.
Ryan, 32, was caught up in a drug gang that was supplying the stuff from October 2023 to January 2024. He was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court, and the judge didn’t hold back on how serious his actions were.
They said his role in the whole operation was pretty significant. Back in March 2024, he and three others were arrested after police raided several places in Newport. They found a stash of cocaine and other drug-related items.
Even though Ryan has a few past convictions, they weren’t relevant to this case. His lawyer mentioned that he had just landed a stable job making around £22,000 a year before all this went down.
He’s also got a six-year-old daughter who he looks after a couple of days a week. The judge pointed out how much he’s let her down. They even brought up that he has ADHD, hoping it might lighten his sentence a bit.
But the judge wasn’t having it. He called out Ryan for his significant role in street-level dealing and slapped him with a 33-month sentence. He’ll have to serve at least half of that before he can get out on license.
