Drug Dealer Jailed After £1.5M Cocaine Found in His Car on M6

A drug dealer was sentenced to over five years after police discovered £1.5 million worth of cocaine in his vehicle on the M6

Crime

Peter Wiggins, Cocaine, Cheshire, UK, Drug Dealer

Cheshire: So, here’s the scoop. Police pulled over a guy named Peter Wiggins on the M6, and guess what they found? A whopping £1.5 million worth of cocaine stashed in his car. It all went down last November when the Cheshire Police stopped his Vauxhall Astra near Stafford Services.

Wiggins, who’s 55, was taken in by the officers. They told him they were going to search his vehicle. When they asked if there was anything interesting inside, he casually mentioned a box in the boot. Spoiler alert: it was not just any box.

Inside that box were 15 neatly wrapped kilogram blocks of cocaine. Talk about a bad day for him! He was arrested right there on suspicion of having drugs with the intent to sell. They took him into custody, and things just got worse from there.

When they searched his home on Wordsworth Crescent in Blacon, they found over £500 in cash, plus some bags and a tub filled with white powder. Oh, and a knuckle duster, which led to more trouble for him. They arrested him again for having an offensive weapon.

After checking everything out, the forensic team confirmed that the cocaine had a potential street value of up to £1.5 million. Wiggins didn’t say much during his police interview and couldn’t explain how those packages ended up in his car.

Eventually, he was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and having an offensive weapon. He pleaded guilty and got slapped with a five-year and five-month sentence at Stafford Crown Court on January 2.

After the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Roy Wellings from Cheshire Police made it clear that they take drug dealing seriously. He said Wiggins had traveled to the West Midlands, hung out for a couple of hours, and then returned to Cheshire with a car full of cocaine. Even after being caught red-handed, Wiggins tried to dodge responsibility until the very end.

Wellings warned anyone thinking about dealing drugs in Cheshire that they won’t get away with it. So, let this be a lesson!
