British Columbia: The holiday season is getting a bit rough with all this crazy weather. Multiple storms have been hitting the coast, and it’s causing quite a mess.

This week, B.C. has been dealing with some serious storms. We’re talking heavy rain, strong winds, and even landslides that have made things pretty dangerous.

The first storm rolled in on Tuesday, bringing a mix of wind and rain, plus a good amount of snow in the mountains. Just when you thought it was over, another storm showed up right before Christmas, causing more power outages.

And guess what? There’s no break in sight. Another storm is set to hit the South Coast on Thursday, so if you’re planning to travel, keep an eye on the weather alerts.

On Boxing Day, another low-pressure system is expected to arrive early in the morning. It looks like the rainy and windy conditions will stick around for a bit longer.

When this new system comes in, the winds will shift, and we could see gusts reaching up to 80 km/h on the western beaches. That’s not great news for anyone trying to travel.

Forecasters are warning about a lot of rain—up to 200 mm in some areas—so flooding could be a real issue, especially since the ground is already soaked from previous storms.

Winds will be strong, too, with gusts of 60-90 km/h across the straits. This could lead to more power outages and even some ferry disruptions.

Traveling through the Interior is going to be tricky, and it might even be dangerous at times. So, if you’re heading out, be careful.

As for snow, we could see flurries at lower elevations, which will make driving on highways like the Coquihalla a bit of a challenge.

Friday might give us a little break, but don’t get too comfortable. Another storm is expected to roll in later that evening, sticking around through Saturday.

We’re looking at more snow and rain, so it’s best to stay updated on the weather if you’re planning to travel.
