Drivers Stuck in Two-Mile A53 Queue as Roadworks Begin
Motorists face delays in a two-mile queue on the A53 due to ongoing roadworks
A53, Endon, Baddeley Green, North Staffordshire, Roadworks
Endon: So, it looks like drivers are really feeling the pinch this morning. There’s a two-mile backup on the A53 because of some roadworks that just kicked off. Those temporary traffic lights are causing quite the mess, stretching all the way back to Baddeley Green.
During rush hour, folks are coming to a standstill near Baddeley Green Lane. It’s all thanks to those three-way temporary lights at the Leek Road junction with Park Lane and Hallwater. Not a fun way to start the day!
According to One Network, Cadent is in charge of this whole operation, and it might drag on until Friday night. And guess what? This isn’t the only roadwork headache in North Staffordshire right now.
Drivers should also keep an eye out for other ongoing works. There are water works on King Street near Longton and Fenton, and they’re set to wrap up by this evening. Plus, the National Grid is busy on Bucknall New Road in Hanley until tonight.
There’s more! Snow Hill in Shelton has some works at the Cutts Street junction, and temporary lights are up on Scotia Road near Scotia Business Park in Tunstall until Friday. Telecommunications works are also happening on Turnhurst Road in Packmoor today.
In Biddulph, expect temporary lights on Halls Road and St John’s Road, both just for today, and on Congleton Road until this evening. And don’t forget about the emergency gas works on Mayne Street in Hanford, which will last until January 20. Lastly, telecommunications works on Tean Road in Cheadle will continue until tomorrow night.
Stay safe out there, and if you can, maybe take a different route!
