Ivybridge: People are really upset after some vandals went on a rampage, smashing car windows in the rugby club parking lot. It happened just after midnight on January 12, and locals are sharing photos online, showing the damage.
Some folks are suggesting a community meeting to figure out how to tackle this crime wave. One person posted, “What’s happening to our village? This is just not okay.” They reminisced about how safe Ivybridge used to be before all these new housing developments.
Another resident mentioned they’re hesitant to park at the train station overnight because of the risk of vandalism. “We shouldn’t have to worry about our cars in Ivybridge; it should be safe here,” they said.
People are also calling out the police, wanting them to take action against those responsible. After the police shared images of the damaged cars and asked for tips, one resident expressed their frustration, saying the incident has really shaken the community.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they’re looking into the situation. They noted that the damage occurred shortly after midnight and, as of now, they don’t have any solid leads. But they’re open to revisiting the case if new evidence comes in.
