Cambridge: A drink driver was caught swerving his lorry on the A14, and it’s a pretty wild story. Jaroslaw Tekieli, the driver, was over twice the legal limit when he was pulled over.

It all went down on January 8 around 5:30 PM. Other drivers noticed him weaving all over the road near Molesworth and called the police. They managed to stop him on the A1198, just south of Godmanchester.

When they breathalyzed him, he blew a shocking 86 at the roadside and 66 in custody. The legal limit is only 35! Tekieli, who lives in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, admitted to driving over the limit and driving dangerously.

Last Friday, he faced the music at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court. He got a nine-month prison sentence, but it’s suspended for a year. Plus, he’s banned from driving for two years and has to do 180 hours of community service.

PC Sam Holliday was pretty stunned by the whole thing. He said he couldn’t believe Tekieli thought it was okay to drive a big lorry after drinking. Thankfully, some alert motorists kept the police updated on his location.

If you ever see someone driving under the influence, you can call Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s hotline at 0800 032 0845. It’s available 24/7. And remember, if it’s an emergency, always call 999.
