Dre Greenlaw Seeks Pay Raise as 49ers Eye Long-Term Deal
Dre Greenlaw is looking for a payday, while John Lynch aims to secure him for the 49ers’ future

San Francisco: So, Dre Greenlaw is about to hit free agency in March, and he’s got his eyes on some cash. When asked what he wanted for Christmas, he jokingly said, “Some money.” And guess what? John Lynch, the 49ers’ GM, is all in on keeping him around.
Lynch recently shared on KNBR that they really value Greenlaw and see him as a key player for the future. He said, “We love Dre. We’re interested in keeping him here for a long time; he’s a special player.”
Now, here’s the thing: Greenlaw had a tough break last season, tearing his Achilles in the Super Bowl. He just got back on the field last week, but didn’t finish the game. So, his health is definitely something the 49ers and other teams will be thinking about when it comes to his contract.
But hey, the 27-year-old looked pretty solid in his return. When he’s healthy, he’s been a big part of the 49ers’ defense since they drafted him in 2019. The team has some big decisions to make after a rough season, but they seem to believe Greenlaw has a bright future ahead in San Francisco.
