San Francisco: So, Draymond Green just made some waves by hitting three 3-pointers in a game against the Phoenix Suns. This little feat pushed him past Jason Richardson, landing him in third place for the most 3-pointers in Golden State Warriors history. Pretty cool, right?
Now, he’s only behind the legendary Splash Brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. With 702 career 3-pointers, Green is in some elite company. It’s wild to think about how his shooting isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of his legacy, but here we are.
In that game, he was on fire in the second quarter, scoring 16 points and helping keep the Warriors in the game when his teammates were struggling. It’s nice to see him back in form, especially since he had a rough patch with his shooting for a few seasons.
This season, he’s hitting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc, which is pretty solid for him. Last year, he even hit a career-high of 39.5 percent. It’s not his main job to shoot threes, but when he does, it definitely helps the team.
Now, he’s got his eyes set on Klay Thompson for the second spot in the franchise’s 3-pointers made list. But he’s got a long way to go—like, 1,779 more threes! Maybe he’ll just have to be happy with bronze.
