Sydney: Wow, what a scene! More than 100 alleged drug dealers were nabbed in a huge sting operation in New South Wales. The police really went all out, seizing cars, cash, and a ton of drugs.
This Dial-a-Dealer operation ran over three weekends from November to December. In total, 108 people were arrested. Out of those, 64 faced charges for supplying prohibited drugs, while 44 were hit with possession charges. One person even got charged with domestic violence.
Can you believe it? Police seized hundreds of bags of cocaine, along with $20,000 worth of other illicit drugs. They found almost 560 grams of cocaine, which was packed into over 650 bags. That’s a serious haul!
They didn’t stop there. The operation also netted more than 27 grams of MDMA, 467 grams of cannabis, and even some ketamine and ice. Plus, they took over $90,000 in cash and five vehicles. Talk about a big win for the cops!
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna said they’re not done yet. They plan to keep targeting these drug operations into 2025. He’s determined to keep the pressure on, whether it’s major suppliers or street-level dealers.
One of the arrests was a 22-year-old guy caught with 14 bags of cocaine and over $6,000 in cash hidden away. Then there was an 18-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man who got busted in Gymea with 10 bags of cocaine and some cash. They’re both set to appear in court next year.
Even a 22-year-old Korean national was arrested with 21 bags of cocaine and some MDMA caps. The police are really cracking down on this stuff!
In Bondi, a 45-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were caught with 24 bags of cocaine and a knife. They’ll be in court soon too. It’s wild how many people are getting caught up in this.
So, it looks like the police are serious about cleaning up the streets. They’re not letting up anytime soon!
