Sydney: So, there’s this wild story about a chicken shop that got caught up in a legal mess. It all started when Simon Munzer, the original owner of Paradise Charcoal Chicken, sold the shop to his buddy, Fouad Bachour, for $100,000. Sounds simple, right? Well, not quite.

After the sale, things took a turn. Munzer decided he wanted the shop back, even though he had already taken the cash and signed some papers. He just changed his mind out of the blue! Can you believe that?

So, Munzer shows up at the shop one day, claiming he wasn’t ready to let it go. He even told Bachour he only sold it because he needed money for his house. Talk about a twist! Bachour was understandably upset, saying it wasn’t Munzer’s business anymore.

Things got even crazier when Munzer sent a message to the landlord to ignore the lease transfer. A few days later, when Bachour didn’t open the shop due to staff issues, he found Munzer had taken over again. Police were called, but no one got arrested.

After all this drama, Munzer kept running the shop for two years while Bachour took legal action. In court, it turned out that the judge believed Bachour’s version of events. Justice Kelly Rees ruled that Munzer had to stick to the original sale agreement.

Now, a referee will decide how much Munzer owes Bachour for all the trouble, with a report due by March 2025. It’s a wild ride, and it just goes to show how messy business deals can get, especially when friends are involved!
