Miami: It’s been a pretty quiet game on the offensive side at Lake Erie this Sunday. The Dolphins managed to sneak in a 39-yard field goal just as the first half ended, putting them ahead 6-3 against the Browns.
Quarterback Tyler Huntley, stepping in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa, made a nice 9-yard pass and spiked the ball to stop the clock with just a second left. He wrapped up the half completing 13 of 16 passes for 143 yards, while Tyreek Hill caught five of those for 69 yards.
Despite the lead, Miami hasn’t been super impressive, only getting nine first downs and failing on all five of their third-down attempts. Jason Sanders kicked a 54-yard field goal to get things rolling midway through the first quarter.
On the other side, Cleveland’s quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson struggled a bit, going 7 of 15 for 58 yards and throwing an interception. He’s now the only player this century with at least 10 picks and just one or zero touchdown passes.
The Browns’ only points came from Dustin Hopkins, who managed a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter, despite having a rough season overall. Running back Jerome Ford had to leave the game with an ankle injury, and his return is uncertain.
In a notable moment, Miami’s left tackle Terron Armstead went down after making a tackle on a Huntley interception, which was later overturned due to defensive pass interference by Cleveland. Patrick Paul stepped in to take over at left tackle.
The Dolphins really need this win to keep their hopes alive for the No. 7 seed in the AFC. Meanwhile, a win for the Browns would help the Rams get closer to clinching the NFC West.
