Wales: A car-buying service called Webuyanycar found some strange items in sold cars. They reported that branch managers discover four misplaced items each week.

That adds up to about 104,000 forgotten items every year. In 2024, 35% of managers found funny or unusual things left behind.

One surprising case involved a grandma found sitting in a car at a Merseyside branch. She was still there after the seller walked away.

In Tonypandy, a microwave was left behind. In Merthyr, they found divorce papers, a wedding ring, and an album.

At the Tewkesbury branch, managers discovered two bales of hay, a strimmer, and a marathon medal in another car sold last year.

Other odd items included a tin of beans, a golf buggy, an exercise bike, and even a whoopee cushion.

Richard Evans, head of technical services, said they’ve bought over four million cars. It’s no surprise they find forgotten items.

He added that Webuyanycar aims to help customers reunite with their lost belongings. His advice? Always check your car before leaving.
