Faversham: So, here’s the scoop. Starting January 6, some major roads near the M2 are going to be closed for bridge repairs. This is all happening in January and February, and it’s going to be a bit of a hassle for drivers.

The bridge at Painter’s Forstal is already under maintenance, and it’ll be closed around the clock. But don’t worry, pedestrians can still get through. They’ve set up a diversion route, so you can still navigate around the area.

Painter’s Forstal Road is also closed between Hanslett’s Lane and Water Lane. Just follow the signs for the detour, which takes you through Water Lane, London Road, Brogdale Road, and Eastling Road.

National Highways mentioned that they’re doing some important work on the bridge, like replacing parapets and putting in vehicle restraint systems. It’s all about keeping everyone safe.

And it doesn’t stop there! From January 20, they’ll start repairs on another bridge at Maidstone Road in Gillingham. This one’s going to be closed for about five weeks, too. The closure will be 24/7, so plan accordingly.

They’re keeping access open for businesses that usually rely on Maidstone Road, but you might have to wait a bit while they make it safe for you to pass through. There’s also a signed diversion for that area, so you won’t be completely stuck.

Oh, and heads up! There will be some overnight closures on the M2 this week, from January 15 to January 17. If you want to stay updated on all the roadworks in Kent, you can find more info online.
