Darlington: Jordan Green, a 30-year-old from Harrogate Lodge, found himself in a bit of trouble at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court. He showed up on December 30, 2024, and admitted to three serious offences he committed just two days earlier.

So, what did he do? Well, he drove while disqualified, took a Suzuki without asking the owner, and did all this without insurance. Not a great combo, right? The court heard how he took the car for a spin on Clifton Road, completely ignoring the fact that he wasn’t allowed to drive.

The magistrates didn’t take it lightly. They handed him a community order, which means he has to put in 180 hours of unpaid work over the next year. Plus, he’s now banned from driving for 34 months. Ouch!

They didn’t slap him with a separate penalty for the insurance issue, but they did mark his driving record. The prosecutor, John Garside, made it clear how serious these offences were, while Green’s lawyer, Andrew Teate, pointed out that he admitted his guilt early on, which helped a bit with the sentencing.

The court really stressed how reckless Green’s actions were, especially considering the risks he posed to others. In the end, they felt that the community service and the long driving ban were the right way to deal with what he did.
