The Lion King story comes alive each night with stunning visuals. It follows Simba’s adventures and his journey to kingship.

Julie Taymor’s adaptation opened on Broadway in 1997. Since then, 25 productions have been created in nine languages.

The London show began in 1999 at the Lyceum Theatre and celebrated its 25th anniversary last October.

A talented team of designers recreated the vibrant colors of the African savanna. They drew from diverse cultural influences for the show.

Director Julie Taymor is known for her innovative approach. She was the first woman to win a Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical.

The London version brought back the original Broadway creative team, who won five Tony Awards.

The show features music by South African composer Lebo M, with additional material by Julie Taymor and Mark Mancina.
