Devon: So, you know that show “Escape to the Chateau”? Well, Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have been quite the duo, turning a rundown French chateau into a beautiful home. They’ve been at it since 2016, and it’s been a wild ride.
They’ve shared their ups and downs while raising their kids, Arthur and Dorothy, and even started a business hosting weddings. But after six seasons, they decided it was time to wrap things up. They’ve been busy with tours, but they really thought about stepping away from the show.
In a chat with Devon Live, Dick mentioned that their kids are growing up fast. Arthur is heading to senior school, and Dorothy is about to make some big changes too. They felt it was important to focus on their family during this transition.
He said, “We had some big talks back in 2022. Before the kids face all the pressures of growing up, we knew it was time to walk away.” They even threw a big party at the end of 2022 to celebrate this new chapter for their kids.
It sounds like a smart move. Dick noted that Arthur has been feeling less pressure lately, which is great. Angel chimed in, saying she worries a bit more about Dorothy, but they both agree it was the right call to step back from the cameras.
They haven’t completely shut their kids off from the media, though. They still enjoy being part of the books and joining their parents on tour. It’s all about finding that balance, right?
