DeWine Orders Flags Lowered Until January 28 in Honor of President Carter
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff until January 28 to honor former President Jimmy Carter

The flags will stay down until January 28, 2025. It’s a way to show respect for a man who really made a mark during and after his presidency.
Carter, the 39th president, died on December 29, 2024. DeWine shared his condolences, saying he and his wife were saddened by the news.
He highlighted how Carter lived his faith and dedicated his life to humanitarian efforts. You know, he was really known for his work with Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center, which focuses on democracy and health issues worldwide.
DeWine also mentioned Carter’s military service and his long marriage to Rosalynn. They were married for an incredible 77 years, which is quite a feat! It’s a tough loss for his family, and DeWine extended his heartfelt condolences to Carter’s children and grandchildren.
