Devon bus inferno sparks evacuation

Plymouth: So, there was this crazy bus fire in Devon that really got everyone’s attention. Emergency services rushed to Budshead Road after reports of a big blaze. They even had to evacuate a nearby building while they tackled the flames.

When the firefighters arrived, the back of the bus was already engulfed in flames. You could see thick smoke billowing over the city, and folks said it was visible from quite a distance, even from Saltash. People nearby were definitely feeling the heat, with one person mentioning smoke in Ernesettle.

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service got the call around 2:09 PM. They sent out multiple fire engines from different stations to handle the situation. It was serious enough that they had to bring in extra help.

By the time they got there, the rear of the bus was pretty much toast. The firefighters used breathing gear and foam jets to get the fire under control. Sadly, the bus was about 80% damaged, and a couple of nearby cars didn’t fare much better.
