Gloucestershire: So, there’s this wild story about a detective who got fired for some seriously messed up stuff. This guy, Det Con Nicholas Henry, was found to have had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl. Can you believe that?
It all started when they met on a social media site. She was just 15, and he was 24. They exchanged some pretty explicit stuff online, and things escalated when she turned 16. They actually met up and had sex. Yikes!
Things got even weirder when he acted out a “rape fantasy” with her. He only stopped when he realized she wasn’t into it. The relationship went on until she turned 18 and headed off to university.
Henry denied everything, claiming it was just a short fling when she was 16. But the girl, known as Witness A, spilled the beans to a police sergeant at a hen party in 2023. They were chatting about police issues when she mentioned him.
Once the police got wind of it, they launched an investigation. At the time, Henry was working in a unit dealing with serious sexual offenses. He tried to defend himself, but the panel found him guilty of all charges.
The assistant chief constable, Arman Mathieson, said Henry’s actions were intentional and showed a serious abuse of trust. He pointed out that this kind of behavior is a big deal, especially with all the scrutiny around violence against women.
Even though this happened 15 years ago and wasn’t considered criminal, Henry was fired on the spot and banned from working in policing again. The director of operations for the Independent Office for Police Conduct called his actions predatory and totally inappropriate for a cop.
