Detained Aussie’s wild vegan rant

Melbourne: A strange video has popped up of an Aussie guy named Oscar Jenkins. He’s currently believed to be held by Russian soldiers in Ukraine. In this clip, he’s going off about veganism and even says he wants to “force” Chinese folks to go vegan.

The video shows Oscar, who’s 32, in some pretty rough interrogation scenes that have been shared on pro-Russian social media. It’s wild to see him getting hit while soldiers ask him his name. But what’s even weirder is a video he posted a year ago where he’s ranting about his vegan lifestyle.

In that clip, which he uploaded to YouTube last August, he talks about “moments of passion” and how things are “f**king” with his head. He’s wearing a blue shirt that calls for banning dairy products, and he’s pretty intense about it. He even says, “If you’re not vegan and you’re my friend, then you’re gonna be vegan soon, or we’re gonna fight.”

Oscar’s friends and family are shocked by all this. He’s a well-liked member of the Toorak-Prahran Cricket Club back in Melbourne. The club president, Neil Gumley, shared how talented Oscar is and how he’s known him since he was a kid.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed that the Australian Embassy in Moscow is looking into Oscar’s situation. He mentioned that the Russians often share misleading info, so they’re working hard to get the facts straight. Oscar’s been trying to help Ukraine, and it’s clear that his detainment has raised a lot of eyebrows back home.
