North Avoca Beach: A 15-year-old boy is missing after he was swept off some rocks at the beach. The search kicked off around 3 PM on Tuesday, but sadly, they couldn’t find him.
Emergency services jumped into action, including the police and Marine Rescue teams. They searched the area for a couple of hours but had to call it off around 7 PM due to rough conditions.
Inspector Steve Raymond mentioned that the waves were pretty big, around 2.5 to 3 meters high. They’re planning to start searching again on Christmas morning, hoping for better luck.
Authorities are asking anyone who might have seen anything to reach out. Plus, there’s a hazardous surf warning in place, so they’re advising folks to stay out of the water and avoid those rocky areas.
It’s a tough situation, and everyone is hoping for the best. We’ll keep you updated as more information comes in.
