Derelict Barber Shop Remains Fenced Off Eight Months After Collapse
A derelict barber shop in Liverpool has been left untouched for eight months
Liverpool, Barber Shop, Collapse, Building Safety, Anfield
The building fell down right next to a petrol station, and when it happened, bricks were everywhere. They had to block off the road to keep folks safe. The council did tear down part of it the next day, but the rest is still just sitting there, all boarded up and looking abandoned.
You’d think they’d want to get rid of it for good, but nope! The council says it’s not a danger anymore, so they’re leaving it to the owner. If someone reports it as dangerous again, they’ll check it out, but it’s really on the owner to take action.
It’s kind of a bummer because there are other rundown buildings in Liverpool too. Like that old Rapid Hardware store that’s been empty for ages. They had plans to turn it into apartments, but nothing’s happened there either. Just more empty spaces in the city, you know? An assessment last year said the barber shop isn’t in immediate danger, but it sure doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
