Denver: So, there was this wild and tragic story from way back in 1955. A guy named John ‘Jack’ Gilbert Graham had a seriously messed-up relationship with his mom. He packed her suitcase with 25 sticks of dynamite before she boarded a flight to Alaska. Can you believe that?

The flight took off from Denver, and just eleven minutes later, boom! The plane exploded mid-air, killing all 44 people on board, including his own mother, Daisie E. King. She was just trying to visit her daughter, totally unaware of the horror her son had planned.

Graham had claimed he didn’t know what was in her luggage, just some hunting gear. But investigators quickly figured out he was lying. He had a sick plan to cash in on a hefty insurance policy he took out on her life. Talk about twisted!

After the explosion, the FBI dug into Graham’s past and found out he had a rocky relationship with his mom. They even discovered he had caused an explosion at her restaurant just two months earlier. It was all pretty suspicious.

Eventually, Graham confessed to building a time bomb and setting it to go off shortly after takeoff. He was sentenced to death and executed in 1957. It’s one of those stories that just leaves you shaking your head in disbelief.
