Bury St Edmunds: Today marked the grand opening of the first show home in a big housing project. This development will bring 900 new homes and generate £15.5 million for local infrastructure.
Mayor Diane Hind was on hand to cut the ribbon at Denbury Homes’ St Edmunds Gate. She checked out some of the homes and was really impressed, saying they looked fabulous.
Denbury Homes is excited to show off their designs. The first homes in this project will be ready for people to move into this spring.
Sara Raven, the sales and marketing director, expressed pride in Bury as their hometown. She mentioned how they want their homes to fit in with the local vibe and support the community.
They’re also contributing £15.5 million to local councils for things like education and healthcare. Plus, there’s a relief road being built to improve access to the area, expected to open in 2026.
The first phase includes 52 affordable homes, and Denbury is close to finalizing a deal with a housing provider for those. The new homes will feature modern amenities like air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points.
Prices for the homes start at £275,000 for a two-bedroom coach house and go up to £620,000 for a four-bedroom detached house.
In related news, Hopkins Homes is also working on a nearby development and announced a key route closure for their relief road project. They plan to connect their development with Denbury’s via a new bridge over the River Lark, set to be built in 2025/2026.
This bridge and road will make it easier for everyone to get to the A14, which is great news for the community.
