Hexham: Home Instead Tyne Valley has launched a YouTube channel called ‘Home Truths.’ This channel aims to show the real side of living with dementia.
It will feature personal stories, helpful tips, and advice for families. The goal is to support those on this journey.
The launch event is on March 5 at 1 PM in Hexham. Sarah Knowles will lead the session.
Home Instead did research on public perceptions of dementia. They found that 84% of people believe families need more education about it.
The study, named the ‘New Ageing Index,’ revealed that 58% think dementia should be declared a health emergency by the Government.
Additionally, 83% of respondents feel better home treatment options could greatly improve lives.
Home Instead Tyne Valley aims to help at least 1,000 people in the area understand dementia better through their new channel.
Heather Hughes from Home Instead Tyne Valley shared that 50% of their clients have some form of dementia. They understand its impact on families.
With nearly a million people living with dementia in the UK, it’s a topic that affects many. It’s time to talk openly about it.
