Delivery executive held for replacing expensive phone, delivering diary to customer in Goregaon

Mumbai: So, there was this wild incident in Goregaon where a delivery guy got caught swapping a pricey phone for a diary. The police say this 19-year-old, Nikhil Sonar, was working for an e-commerce site when he pulled this stunt.

A 33-year-old artist had ordered a fancy mobile phone, paying a whopping Rs 81,649. But when the delivery came, guess what? Instead of the phone, he found a diary and a sticker. Talk about a letdown!

The artist quickly reached out to the e-commerce company, but they insisted everything was delivered correctly. He even tried contacting the delivery guy, but Sonar just shrugged it off, saying the parcel was for someone else.

Frustrated, the artist went to the police last week. The Bangur Nagar Police jumped on the case, led by Senior Inspector Anil Thackeray. They used some tech sleuthing to track down Sonar. After some serious questioning, he confessed to the whole thing and even handed over the stolen phone. Now, he’s in police custody, facing the music for his actions. What a crazy story!
