Indianapolis: DeForest Buckner, the Colts’ standout defensive tackle, has been a key player since joining from the 49ers in 2020. But after a tough 45-33 loss to the Giants, he didn’t hold back on his thoughts.

He said, “We came up short. Honestly, as a team, we really messed up.” Buckner’s frustration was clear. He’s seen the team struggle in late-season games before, and it’s getting old. “We have the talent, but we just can’t seem to get over that hump,” he added.

Buckner knows the guys in the locker room care deeply about the team and the city. “We want to give the fans something to be proud of, and it’s tough when it doesn’t go our way,” he explained.

This season has been a rollercoaster for the Colts. They’ve only been above .500 once, and after a promising win against Miami, they hit a rough patch with three straight losses.

As the season wraps up, Buckner anticipates some big changes for the Colts. “There will be some new faces next season, and we all know that,” he said. “We need to make those changes to improve.”
