Deebo Samuel Confirms He’ll Return to 49ers for 2025 Season
Deebo Samuel is clear about his future, stating he plans to return to the 49ers in 2025 without any doubts.

He hasn’t chatted with the team’s management yet, but when asked about his future, he simply said, “No, no questions at all.” That’s pretty clear, right?
Last season was a bit rough for him and the team. He caught 51 passes out of 81 targets, racking up 670 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 42 times for 136 yards and one touchdown, which is a drop from his impressive 12 touchdowns in 2023.
Deebo’s got a contract that runs through 2025, thanks to a three-year, $71.5 million deal he signed in 2022 after a bit of a holdout. The 49ers could opt out of the contract, but with a hefty dead cap hit of over $31 million, it seems unlikely they’ll let him go.
Looking ahead, the 49ers are hoping to have a stronger wide receiver lineup in 2025. Last season, injuries sidelined Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall for a good chunk of time.
With Jauan Jennings and Jacob Cowing also under contract, keeping Deebo makes sense, especially since Aiyuk’s return is still up in the air. Coach Shanahan is expected to share his offseason plans later this week.
